Manchester City (+105) vs Liverpool (+230, Draw +290)
Manchester City leads the EPL with 247 corners taken this season, 34 more than second-place Chelsea. Liverpool is third in that category with 203 corners taken.
While both defensive units do a great job of preventing shots from within the box, don’t be surprised to see them push the pace and gain a corner opportunity early in the match.
Pick: First five minutes – Corner awarded (+140)
Liverpool’s defense has been absolutely outstanding this season, conceding just 21 goals through 31 matches, and it’s not just like they’re shutting down middling squads. In eight matches against teams currently in the Top-6 of the EPL table, they’ve allowed a total of five goals and haven’t allowed more than a single goal even once in those contests.
The value on City’s Under 1.5 team total is too good to pass up here.
Pick: Team Total – Manchester City Under 1.5 (+100)
We can’t say enough about the defense of Jürgen Klopp’s squad and even when teams are able to break them down, keeper Alisson Becker is usually there to save the day. That said, both teams are tremendously skilled at attacking as well. Man City leads the league with 77 goals and Liverpool is second with 70, while no other club has scored more than 59.
With the Over 2.5 cashing in six of the last eight matches in the head to head, and both teams possibly playing a bit looser with not a whole lot at stake we’re leaning towards the O2.5.
Pick: Over 2.5 (-175)
This could very easily be a letdown spot for Liverpool, after all, they’ve already clinched the Premiership and are now on the road against the second-best side in the league – a Man City team that won the EPL title in each of the last two years. However, the Reds certainly didn’t show any lack of hunger when they kept the pressure on Crystal Palace despite a comfortable lead.
In addition, Man City will be missing two key players with Sergio Agüero (who has scored at an incredible pace of one goal every 91 minutes this season) injured and midfielder Fernandinho serving a suspension.
It isn’t easy to go to Etihad and leave with a victory, but Liverpool accomplished that not long ago defeating Man City in Champions League play in 2018, and it should be easier this time around without hostile fans in attendance. The Reds have simply been too dominant this season to pass up at +230.
Pick: Liverpool +230
